On the Sunday of the Vogue Festival 2013 I attended a panel held by Mario Testino who is mostly known for his work in fashion photography and his photographs of the Royal Family. As soon as he arrived on stage he took a photograph of the packed audience and then spoke about his childhood and how he originally got into photography, followed by some behind-the-scene stories of some of the shoots he has worked on.

One of the panels I attended during the Vogue Festival 2013 was Behind the Scenes of a Vogue Cover Shoot - Secrets from the Set. 

This panel featured a number of people including, Vogue’s Editor Alexandra Shulman, Vogue Fashion Director Lucinda Chambers, Hairstylist Sam McKnight, Make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury and model Cara Delevingne. They discussed what really goes on during a Vogue Photo Shoot and how they overcome unexpected disasters.

This weekend I travelled up to London to attend Vogue Festival 2013, a two day event featuring a number of well known models, designers, and fashion industry veterans such as Alexa Chung, Cara Delevingne, Victoria Beckham, Jonathan Anderson, Daisy Lowe and David Gandy amongst others.

Alfie Boe, originally from Blackpool is one of the most well known tenors in the UK. His career includes highlights such as performing as Jean Valjean for the 25th anniversary of Les Misérables, three platinum albums, and singing for the Queen at the diamond Jubilee Concert, and he has been performing to full venues throughout his Storyteller Tour.

Holi, also known as the ‘Festival of Colours’ is a Hindu festival that celebrates new life and welcomes in the spring. What was once seen primarily in India is now celebrated worldwide, and students were invited to attend the festival at Sussex University to mark the end of winter. I went along to see the students celebrating by throwing powdered paints around and eating traditional foods.

Bastille, fronted by Dan Smith along with Chris Wood, Will Farquarson and Kyle Simmons performed at the Concorde2 as part of their latest tour to a sold out venue of screaming fans. Outside people were still hoping for return tickets asking everyone around if they had any, which just shows how popular this band has become.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to do a shoot with one of the dresses designed by the amazing Oh My Honey. I had chosen one of her beautiful 50’s style day dresses for the shoot that I felt suited model Zoë Cartlidge exceedingly well. Jodie Watts met us to do the make-up around midday and then we began the shoot.
